The band’s virtual members consist of four animated characters: 2-D lead vocals, keyboards, Murdoc Niccals bass guitar and vocals, Noodle guitar, keyboard, and vocalsĀ  and Russel Hobbs drums and percussion.

2-D, whose real name is Stuart Pot, is the lead vocalist and keyboardist of Gorillaz. He is depicted as having blue hair, which covers his eyes, and a generally laid-back demeanor. His character is known for his distinctive singing voice and often serves as the face of the band in promotional materials and music videos.
